In case you haven't heard, we MOVED in May 09 to 125 KING WILLIAM ST BAYSWATER. The rent in Eighth Ave doubled, and the City of Bayswater offered us this great little place next to the Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary and river. We love it here, but we're sorry we're harder to get to. 5mins walk from Guildford Rd buses, 15 mins walk from Bayswater Train Station. Plenty of parking for cars or bikes. After 5 years we also still have our regular stall at CITY FARM ORGANIC MARKETS City Farm Lane (formerly Brown St) East Perth, next to Claisebrook Station, through carpark from Royal St's TAFE and Ed and Health Depts.

Our Shop

We started off small of course, back in 2001, with only about a dozen items on sale. We always had plenty of free up to date information on sustainable living - tips on using less power and water, gardening without polluting the environment, attracting birds and butterflies and frogs to your garden etc. Even though we now stock around 700 products, we're proud that we've kept around 7 square metres for our display racks, with hundreds of excellent free brochures, pamphlets and flyers.

Every new product or line has been the subject of some pretty 'robust' discussions at committee meetings on the pros and cons - weighing up factors like what it's made of, how much environmental damage might have been done in its production, how far it's travelled to get here, how environmentally useful it is, whether we can find out that the workers who made the product were paid properly, whether we think people will actually buy it (there's always spirited speculation about this question!) and how much money it will make us. Notice that this factor is definitely last. We've even been known to stock items on which we make zero profit, just to show folks that they exist and encourage them to use them.)

We've come to the conclusion that there's no 'perfect' product - ie five stars on every criteria, but most of ours come pretty close we think! We've had to turn away quite a few people who've wanted to sell their product through our shop on the grounds that it didn't stack up well enough on the above questions.

Many Thanks to all of our Customers!
